Maine visual artists are invited to apply for the 2020 summer season residencies on Monhegan Island. This year there are two openings: a two-week residency for art teachers from June 27th – July 10th and a five-week residency from September 5th through October 10th open to artists working in all media. Applicants should consult the MARC website: www.monheganartistsresidency.org for detailed information about the program and send their applications through Submittable, the on-line, art service, at: www.monheganartistsresidencycorporation.submittable.com.
This year’s jurors will be the noted Maine landscape artist, Dennis Pinette, who is represented by Caldbeck Gallery in Rockland; painter and graphic artist Tessa O’Brien, co-founder of the Portland Mural Initiative and gallery director at Able Baker Contemporary in Portland; and new MARC board member, Mott Feibusch, who holds a degree in Crafts/Woodworking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is also currently the First Assessor on Monhegan and co-owner of Monhegan Coffee Roasters.
The application deadline is March 15th.
