Salt Pond Studio presents the wildly fun paintings of Jamie Spooner in ‘By the Big Blue Sea’

Salt Pond Studio presents paintings by Friendship artist Jamie Spooner in the solo show “By the Big Blue Sea,” running Sept. 9 to 19, with an opening reception on Sept. 10.

Tinged with humor and fun, Spooner’s bold and colorful work makes a strong statement. Big and bold is Spooner’s artistic calling card. Paintings of dogs, friends and other creatures by the sea all are ablaze with distinct and unique personalities.

Artist Lisa Dombek featured at Salt Pond Studio

Salt Pond Studio in Friendship presents “Sea Me,” paintings and drawings by Lisa Dombek, from Aug. 26 to Sept. 6.

The exhibition includes mixed-media paintings and drawings born of the artist’s response to the vulnerability of our precious Maine coast.

Through observation and experimentation, Dombek has developed a body of work steeped in metaphor and spiritual inquisitiveness. In this series of works, her command of materials and her intuitive, gestural style mix reality and abstraction, producing a compelling and sophisticated exhibition.

Dombek is originally from Blue Hill and now calls Friendship home. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Portland galleries, collected privately and enjoyed nationally.

Salt Pond Studio presents work by Jane Herbert and Marnie Sinclair, on exhibit from Aug. 12 to 22. An artist reception was held on Aug. 14.

Stunning canvases of coastal views by Jane Herbert are paired with the whimsical bronze sculptures by Marnie Sinclair, as well as Sinclair’s heartfelt paintings of the precious life under our seas.

Salt Pond Studio occupies the historical, 19th-century, one-room schoolhouse at is at 522 Cushing Road, Friendship, on the corner of Rte. 97 and Salt Pond Road. The space was lovingly restored by owners Pam and Eli Cabañas.

The group exhibit “Circle of Friends 2” is on view June 25 to July 11 at Salt Pond Studio featuring Midcoast artists and artisans.

Graham Walton exhibits at Salt Pond Studio

Salt Pond Studio welcomes Nobleboro artist Graham Walton whose work is on exhibit from June 10 to 20.

This fine young artist presents his stylized and colorful interpretations of the Maine coast, along with wonderful paintings depicting interior scenes in his unique interpretive style. Also a singer-songwriter, Walton has a long heritage on the Maine coast. Hailing from a family of shipwrights, he has melded his life story into intriguing contemporary works of art.

The exhibit “Circle Of Friends 2” will be shown from June 24 to July 11 featuring artist friends of Salt Pond Studio, including Phoebe Bly, Linda Mahoney, Laura Waller, Stephen Hensel, Edie Armstrong, Joel “Wolfie” Wessel, Chris Augusta, Katharine Cartwright, Brian Woods, Jean Kigel and Dick Kubek.

As always, a selection of paintings by gallery owner Pam Cabañas will be available.

Artist Graham Walton exhibits paintings and woodblock prints at Salt Pond Studio

Curated by Friendship artist and gallery owner Pam Cabanas, this solo exhibition at at Salt Pond Studio features the high-color, high-energy paintings of Nobleboro artist Graham Walton, as well as a collection of his woodblock prints.

Walton is originally from midcoast Maine and currently residing in Nobleboro.

“It is impossible for me to verbally explain my love for the coast, and for Maine in general, which is why I paint,” he writes. “I draw endless inspiration from my books on Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse and the world of art history and contemporary art alike. Inspiration is never in short supply with so much beauty in the natural world, and so much brilliant artwork to be studied.”

Salt Pond Studio Presents Jane Herbert’s ‘Mellow Maine’

Salt Pond Studio in Friendship invites you to this special exhibition of paintings by JANE HERBERT

 

Salt Pond Studio is situated at the intersection of Salt Pond Road and 522 Cushing Road (Route 97) in the renovated East Friendship School House. Owner Friendship Artist Pam Cabanas has repurposed this 19th century school house as unique art exhibition and studio space.
